Ray Davies and Chris Crook
met and joined forces in 1995 and have enjoyed
a roller coaster ride of work in the Middle East, Far East, Jersey, Cape Town
and the UK.
The name "Obsession" derived from their mutual obsession with music,
which has dominated their lives since childhood.

RAY - An accomplished
bass /guitarist/vocalist, has worked with top bands such as Culture
Club, Paul Young, Jet Harris and Mungo Jerry who enjoyed many worldwide
hits including "In the summertime". He has spent several years
working overseas and cruising on th QE2, Caribbean Cruise Line, and
P & O, with the Joe Loss Band and the Angie Page Trio.
In the seventies, Ray joined 5 piece vocal band "MAGIC" who went on to become one of the top QUEEN tribute bands in the UK, and are still performing to packed theatres worldwide today!
He enjoyed personal record success in 1983 when his band UK players reached the top 40 with their hit "Love's gonna get you", produced by Cultures Clubs Steve Levine and his voice can be heard on radio stations and recording studios alike where he undertook voice-over work for many clients.
He was also involved with some of the music for the classic eighties
children's TV programme "Wizbit" with Paul Daniels, and his
cameo television roles included "Howard's' Way", "Campion"
and "Dr Who and the Daleks"! Not forgetting his film appearance
with David Essex in "That'll be the day"!
CHRIS - Chris began her musical
career as a child learning both guitar and oboe where she was a member of
youth wind bands. Her interest took a diverse turn in the eighties where the
advent of punk music influenced her musical direction, and at this stage she
took up the saxophone. Toyah Willcox was her icon and her bright pink hair
mirrored the personality and image of this notorious actress, singer and presenter.
She has worked in both bands committed to their own repertoire including a
7 piece reggae band, and bands/duos working in UK clubs /pubs and private
functions and supporting sixties stars including Billy J Kramer. Her overseas
work with "Obsession" has also given her the opportunity to record
voice-over work for the well renowned Dubai Shopping Festival.
"Obsession" aim to provide entertainment for all musical tastes
and with a repertoire exceeding 500 songs they can easily read a crowd
and adapt their musical choice accordingly. This fact is highlighted
in many references / letters they have received.
Using radio microphones both vocally and on the saxophones, their show is interactive and Obsession are renowned for building a lively rapport with the audience.
They have also organised and performed in numerous cabaret shows booking the acts with whom they have previously worked, such as oriental illusionists world renowned hypnotist, comedians and even a ventriloquist!
Whether it be a cocktail party, a lively function or an evening of "just listening", Obsession can fit the bill !
